The 85th Academy Awards ceremony, took place February 24, in the United States. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) presented its annual Academy Awards honoring the best films of the year 2012 in the United States. The event took place at the Dolby Theatre in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles, California. For the first time Seth MacFarlane hosted the Academy Awards. Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pi’ emerged as the biggest winner of the night with four titles to its name – Best Direction, Best Original Score, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects. This film has been nominated for 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects. It's an honor that is indeed being felt all over the world.
