Perhaps this is the toughest job of parenting. Disciplining kids is a tough task, because, they will not be in an age, where in you can make them sit, talk to them, and make them understand. Nor, can you punish them, and correct their behavior, because of their tender mind and body. We often associate the word discipline, with punishment, or control, but the real meaning of discipline is, to impart knowledge and skill. Discipline should help the child, to cope up with the real world, in an effective way. It should help him build confidence and should make him, competent. Effective and positive discipline, is guiding, and teaching children, not to just force them, to obey us. Parents should correct any misbehavior, but in a way that it has a positive effect, on the child.
