Psychological Effects of Cartoons on Kids

cartoon for kids
Today in every house we find kids watching cartoons. Just to keep them occupied we make them watch cartoons, later on they become so addicted to them.

That they hardly allow other to see any other program on television and start crying if we don’t allow them to see. Such is the effect of cartoons on kids.

Kids now a day’s no more are interested in playing and outdoor activities, they are more interested to spend their time in front of the idiot box. Most of the time parents are busy in their own work and have no time to see what they are watching and what effect it has on them.

If children spend time in playing and physical activities, their body and mind will become healthy. When they associate themselves with the friends of their age group they learn how to mingle with others and learn communication.

Now a days we find hardly anyone doing this, if there is anything that is of interest to kids it is just watching cartoons. Today we find so many kids who are obese and are overweight as per their age, watching television especially cartoons is one of the reasons.

Because they have no activity for body they just sit and watch and they start gaining weight. There are also various kinds of cartoons that are shown in the t. v.

A few years back there was a huge demand from the parents to stop showing a cartoon show. Because, the contents were not suitable to be viewed by the kids.

They don’t know what is good and bad, they cannot discriminate, but we as parents should keep a watch on what they are seeing and if what they are seeing and learning is good for them.

A research has shown that children imitate what they see; if they see fighting and violence they imitate it. If it is fantasy they start assuming that such things are real and exist, because they cannot differentiate between fantasy and reality.

These things have severe effect on their behavior patterns. So, parents should take enough care to see what they are watching and learning. In limit and In good doses everything is good, but without parental supervision, children watching television and especially cartoons is not at all good.

Next time you switch on a cartoon and leave for your work think a second about your child.
